Here is the link to the stabbing at the library story: http://decatur.patch.com/articles/stabbing-at-decatur-library-causes-evacuation. It raises a few questions: Is there more crime because of the uncertain economy? Or is Decatur an unsafe place to live? If so, why?

ReplyFrom reader Gwendolyn: Please get a committee to preserve the excellent and outstanding history of Avondale High School, as well as the other schools. Also, please make sure that photos, writings, sports and the academic accomplishments of administrators, educators, staff, graduates and of current students will be preserved and archived. What is the possibility of archiving trophies and other historical materials, by schools, with the Historical Society. This could be an excellent educational resource for our communities and students presently and in the future. PLEASE HELP TO VALUE AND KEEP THE VALUABLE TREASURE OF THE HISTORY OF AVONDALE HIGH SCHOOL AND OTHER SCHOOLS FOR GENERATIONS YET UNBORN!
I am a retired educator from the City Schools of Decatur, who played against Avondale High School, coached basketball teams against them and was blessed to have many positive experiences with students, staff and coaches there.

It's an organic bread bakery plus they serve up light organic breakfast, and soups and sides for lunch/dinner. It's yummy.
