ReplyPardon me if this has already been discussed, but has the idea of a "North DeKalb County" been explored? It's a shame that two great communities are at odds with each other but generally desire the same results. Joining forces to create a county would help push a new school district to the front and allow for all to share the benefits and fiscal responsibilities of improved services.

ReplyMIstakes we made? Voters were misled, board members misbehaved. There is a level of expectation for each elected official, it's not our mistake that it wasn't met! To what parental mistakes was Mr. Thurmond referring?

ReplyWould a new school district be considered? Frankly I don't know if Dunwoody has considered one? I would think there is a great opportunity to sucede from the "mess we call DCS"!

ReplyIt's a shame that most of your see this as self serving when it is a lesson in government and what can happen as result of a community being given the opportunity to express their needs and opinions. Please keep in mind this is in the very early planning portion. Feasabilty hasn't even been determined yet. Go to the 2/13 meeting and become educated on the roots of this proposal.

Sagamore and Druid Hills probably don't offer much in the way additional revenue in the form of business licenses, HOST proceeds and franchise fees
