Marguerite Girard was born in Frankfurt, Germany, and came to the United States in 1970.  She graduated from A. C. Flora High School in Columbia, SC in 1973 and began her career in insurance after receiving her Associates Degree in Secretarial Science from Midlands Technical College.

While in SC, Marguerite was sought out and selected to illustrate a children’s coloring book in 1980 – “Twas the Night Before Halloween”.  She was published regularly in The State newspaper of Columbia, SC with her letters to the Editor.  She moved to Georgia in 1985 with her first of three sons, to further her insurance career.

She was then subsequently published in the National Society of Poetry and recognized and published regularly in letters to the Editor of the Dekalb Neighbor Newspapers.  She also wrote regulation in the Official Code of Georgia on insurance claims practices for self-insurers.

In her 30 year career as an insurance fraud investigator, Marguerite worked in multiple states in her never-ending fight against rampant insurance fraud.  She received the Georgia Governor’s Commendation Medal in 1996, and received the Fraud Claims Law Specialist designation in 2001.  She also received awards as Investigator of the Year in 2006 and again in 2009.  In 2011, Marguerite assisted law enforcement in an investigation that resulted in a case which fell under the Racketeering (RICO) statute, unheard of in the industry.

Ms. Girard is a self-employed consultant currently living in Stone Mountain.  She is very active in her community by attending County commission meetings, volunteering for the police department, and also maintains a close professional rapport with her insurance and law enforcement colleagues.
