Hi Cheryl,
I am working on a feature film that is helping a great cause as well as offering people the opportunity to get involved
with the film. I think this would be a great story to write about and tell people. I just wanted to pass this along. …Or If it’s not too much trouble, pledge on something (they are offering great things!) and if you can also please pass this along to your friends.
If I can help you out with anything or the production can help you with anything, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Here is the link for the film:

Hi Cheryl,
Mr. Ellis's email address is ceo@dekalbcountyga.gov. I have not spoken with or emailed him personally, so I don't know what his typical response rate/time is. (I have spent quite a bit of time with Scott Holcomb at various events, interviewed him for articles, etc., so I knew how to contact him and knew that he would answer you as best he could.)
The only thing I really know about the tax assessments is that they're based on home sales in the area. Our property value went down substantially, but I know it was based on what houses in our neighborhood have sold for in the last year. So, I don't know how successful an appeal would be. Please make sure to let us know what you find out.
Thanks,
Lisa

Hi Lisa, Thank you very much for your help. Someone told me that I need to find Burrell Ellis, the new CEO. If you have any suggestions for the best way to contact him, that would be great.
I met up with a group of parents today for a social gathering for the kids and many of them were talking about the same thing - the assessments seem to be extremely low and full of erros, but no one was sure what to do. Everyone is hesitant to appeal individually for fear of being one of only a handful who step up and end up getting hit with a higher tax on a higher property value as a result.
Thanks again for the quick reply. My email is cherylpaulmiller@att.net

Hi Cheryl,
I was looking for your email address and couldn't find it listed on the site anywhere. Anyway, I emailed Rep. Holcomb to let him know about your questions, just in case he didn't see the comment on his blog post. He said he's working on getting some answers for you. Great questions, and great idea to ask him. I'm sure a lot of people will be very interested in the response! Maybe he'll write a story about it. Scott's office email is scott@repscottholcomb.com, and he's very good about answering questions, etc., if you contact him that way.

So glad I have found the TuckerPatch. It is a great source of information and is a nice way to bring our community together. I especially appreciate that you have a nice balance of good news to bad news, unlike other more traditional forms of media. Great job!
