Tucker Patch readers have good taste, obviously.
We asked, you answered. Bruster's Ice Cream on Hugh Howell Road was the pick of readers' favorites when it comes to ice cream, frozen yogurt and frozen treats in general. It received half of the total number of votes. Sheridan's Lattes & Frozen Custard came in second, and Roly Poly gets an honorable mention from a reader named Liliha. Next week Readers' Choice is taking a break, but the following week we'll be asking you to vote on the best place for pet boarding or daycare. Start thinking!

Award-winning Thai food right in our back yard.
Yum Yum Thai (great name, that) has been in the same spot for the last 16 years, on Lawrenceville Highway near the junction of Fellowship Road. It has developed a solid reputation and a bunch of regulars who keep coming back. "Some families grow up with Thai food," Nuchanat Goonsantiviboon, the charming owner, told me. She pointed to a couple of elderly patrons sitting a few tables away who have been coming for lunch every single Friday since 2005. I resisted the temptation to go over and ask them the reason. That famous park up the road slayed the competition.
Hardly surprising, really. We asked readers to vote on a great place nearby to escape to. The resounding answer? Stone Mountain Park. It's only a few miles away, and you can even see the mountain itself from various spots in Tucker. So what else does Stone Mountain Park have going for it? Well, the directory listing in Stone Mountain-Redan Patch says this: "The five-square-mile park is home to attractions, entertainment and recreational activities, including hiking, fishing, cable car rides, a "ride the ducks" tour, a laser show, an indoor gaming room, train rides, mini and standard golf, a 4D movie theater, live entertainment throughout the year, and a campground where you can hook up an RV or pitch a tent." This week's Mother's Day Brunch poll did not yield a clear winner, with three different restaurants getting an equal number of votes.
