Nesbit Elementary Wins 2011 Core Essentials Award

Chick-fil-A honored the school for its outstanding character education program.

It's been a year full of accolades and accomplishments for the Tucker-area schools, and Nesbit Elementary is no exception.  Late last week, Chick-fil-A announced that Nesbit was one of just seven schools in the country to earn the "2011 Core Essentials Award" recognizing it for its outstanding work in educating students about character and values.  The Core Essentials program was launched in 1998 in partnership with Chick-fil-A.  At the time, 24 schools in metro-Atlanta participated.  The program has since grown to include over 800 schools throughout the United States, giving the schools the tools and resources they need in order to help educate students on good character traits.  The three goals of the program are helping schools create a…
