Local Store Busted for Selling Synthetic Pot — Cumming Patch Forty bags of possible synthetic marijuana were confiscated by authorities on Thursday from a convenience store in Cumming. Deputies with the Narcotics Unit of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office found the substance hidden above a tile in the ceiling of the Save Money Food Mart located at 3671 Hutchinson Road. Enamuel Haque, 53, of Duncan Court in Lawrenceville was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute. Updated Sunday, Feb. 17, 7:05 p.m. Two DeKalb County Police Officers based at the Tucker Precinct are among 10 metro Atlanta law enforcement officers arrested by Federal Agents on Feb. 12 for protecting drug dealers during a drug trafficking sting, according to an official statement released Wednesday. Officers Dennis Duren and Dorian Williams, both assigned to the Uniform Division at the Tucker Precinct, have been placed on administrative leave with pay, pending investigation results. Duren has been employed by the Department since Dec. 9, 2002 and Williams since Dec. 31, 2007. “It is incomprehensible why these officers chose to aid and abet these criminals when they are sworn to protect our community from such offenders. Pot, cocaine, and Hydrocodone found in fleeing man's vehicle.
A man was taken into custody after leading police on a chase through Tucker that ended in a wreck. DeKalb officers in a patrol unit near Peters Park observed two cars blocking a street and "impeding the flow of traffic," according to an incident report dated Jan. 8, which stated that the park is "a well known area for major narcotics violations." Both cars sped away as the police got closer, and a pursuit began of one of them, a black Dodge Charger. The chase continued down Elmdale Drive to Fellowship Road, crossing Idlewood Road "through the red light without stopping." How low can you go? Last week, we told you about an Athens suspect who stole the rent money from a seven-year-old. This week we have the story of a “snatch-and-run” theft of Christmas toys from Faith in Serving Humanity, a Walton County charity. The toys were for the Secret Santa Program and included items for many age groups. Picking up dinner: Employees at a Johns Creek Whole Foods were on to a woman who looked suspicious while she pushed around a cart filled with enough food items to make a holiday feast. Their suspicions were affirmed when she bypassed the checkout lanes and headed for the door.
