A mother tells police her son received a black eye from a counselor.
A counselor at the Tucker Recreation Center kicked a young boy in the face with his knee, according to a report filed by the DeKalb County Police Department. The incident occurred on Friday, March 29 during an after-school program, the report stated. Lovers of local history get a chance to mingle.
Please join us for our March meeting Monday, March 4 at 6:45 p.m. at the Tucker Recreation Center in Room 20. If you park in the back, go to the hall on the right side of the building. We will have a direction sign posted to help you. Our guest speaker will be Robert Cook, who grew up in Tucker and is fondly remembered by many of our members. He will share his memories of his childhood, school days and family ties over the years. The Tucker Recreation Center has changed their hours and now closes at 8:30 p.m. In light of that change, we are moving our meeting time up to 6:45 p.m. to give us all a chance to arrive and visit before Robert is introduced. We hope you can be with us! Related items on Tucker Patch

Windsong Sailing Academy, with facilities at Lake Lanier and Tucker, celebrates its 25th anniversary this year—a proud accomplishment for a land-locked sailing school. A successful computer engineer, Captain Dave Crumbley, President and CEO, launched Windsong Sailing Academy in 1987, when he could no longer ignore his love of being on the water. Under Crumbley’s direction, Windsong operates as an American Sailing Association (A.S.A.) training and certification facility, and is distinguished as the longest running A.S.A. academy on Lake Lanier. Today, Windsong provides six levels of accreditation, from basic sailing to celestial navigation, in addition to offering a number of elective classes on an array of topics, like emergency planning, …

Hello Tucker Rec Potters, First my apologies that many of you did not hear this news from me first. I realized only yesterday that an email was sent out telling everyone that I will not be continuing the MudRoom without my knowledge. I don't know what was in that email, but I do want you all to hear from me, as it is my news to tell. The current eight week session will be ending Saturday, April 27. I will be in the studio during my regular office hours firing kilns, preping glazes, and will be happy, as usual, to do demos and teach any students who would like to join me. I will not be able to continue for future sessions at this time because of the low number of registered students. There is simply not enough interest at this time to make …

More information is available by calling 770-270-6226. The Rec Center is located at 4898 LaVista Rd, Tucker 30084.
