Car Stereo Store Robbed

Another retail break-in on Hugh Howell Road.

Burglars broke into a Tucker retail store last Wednesday and stole an undetermined amount of merchandise, according to DeKalb police.  Car Stereo Plus, at 4761 Hugh Howell Road, is close to Dollar General, which was robbed three times last week. The incident report states police responded to an alarm at 4:12 a.m. on May 15 and discovered "the side door to the front of the location had been broken out by unknown suspect(s) with a landscaping brick." Owner Rob Riley was also alerted by the alarm company and arrived soon after but the suspects had fled the scene.

Tucker Resident: 'Car Thieves are at it Again'

The Idlewood Acres area is again the target of criminals who ransack cars at night.

Updated March 29, 10:12 a.m. DeKalb Police are reporting other similar incidents in the area this week: in the 4300 block of Sasanqua Court on March 27, 12:10 p.m; in the 1400 block of Drayton Woods Drive on March 26, 11 p.m; and three separate incidents in the 4000-4100 blocks of Cedar Knoll Drive, one on March 27, 7 p.m. and two on March 26, 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., respectively. Cops: Child Molested by Tucker Man

The alleged abuse went on for more than one year.

Update, 5:52 p.m. Tuesday A Tucker man is accused of molesting a 5-year-old girl for more than a year, according to a Cobb County criminal warrant. Craig Alan Ellett was arrested just before 4 p.m. Friday on Interstate 20 and Flat Shoals Road on charges of aggravated sodomy, aggravated child molestation and cruelty to children in the first degree, according to online jail records. He is being held in the Cobb County Jail without bond. The latest incident occurred around noon Feb. 6 in the 800 block of Galleria Lane in Smyrna, records show. "Although the last incident of sodomy with the 5-year-old victim occurred in Cobb County," an officer wrote in the warrant, "the sexual abuse of the 5-year-old victim had been going on for about a year …

Police Sting Nets Prostitution Arrest

A woman gets busted in an undercover operation at a local hotel.

DeKalb County Vice Unit officers arrested a woman on two counts of prostitution at a local hotel after receiving complaints of illegal activity from Embry Hills residents. The woman had advertised her services on a website and an undercover officer responded by telephone, arranging to meet her in a room at the Motel 6 on Chamblee-Tucker Road on Feb. 27, according to a police report. "The woman had displayed pictures of herself on the ad partially dressed and posing in lewd positions," the report stated. She identified herself as "Raina" and told the caller she charged $75 per half hour. On arrival, the officer handed Raina cash "derived from the Official DeKalb County Investigative Fund" and the two discussed details of what would occur …

What would they have charged him with? Unlawful hiding? It is very likely he was guilty of something but no proof is no arrest. Good job to the police for cleaning up illegal activity but I am with Jerome I would rather see them making arrest for the crimes against person, drugs, burglaries, robberies, etc   more ›
