Two similar incidents occurred within days in the same area.
A woman of 83 had jewelry stolen from her Tucker home by thieves who were pretending to help her. The victim's daughter, Linda Trotter, recounted the events in an email. "Thursday afternoon about 2:30 a lady came to the door and told mother she needed to show her the property line as they would be cutting some trees and limbs on the property behind (her house)," Trotter wrote. "She... went with the lady through the gate and the woman proceeded to tell her about trimming her bushes and (that) they would pick up the debris and mess. After several minutes the woman walked with her back to house, thanked her and got in the passenger side of a black truck parked halfway up the drive and left saying they would be back about 3:30 to do the work…

Thieves are not taking time off for the holidays.
Thieves in the Idlewood Acres West neighborhood of Tucker now seem to be stealing cars rather than their content. A brand new car was taken from a resident's driveway early Christmas Eve, according to neighbor Pam Frain. "His car is one of the new types that start using a remote control. He had the remote and doesn't know how the thief was able to steal the car," Frain said in an email. The theft took place sometimg between 2 and 8 a.m. "There were skid marks in front of his driveway as if the thief had peeled out. He (the car owner) asked if we'd seen or heard anything but we hadn't," Frain said. Crimemapping reported another vehicle theft in the same area last week. In recent months there have been multiple reported break-ins of cars, …

Early morning break-in creates a nasty scene at the popular eatery.
Burglars broke into Main Street's Local No. 7 Restaurant in the middle of the night and got away with little more than a wide screen television set, but they left a messy trail of blood in their wake. A police report states that in the early hours of Nov. 12, thieves smashed a side door's glass with a large rock and gained entry to the restaurant. Once inside, they knocked over a stack of beer bottles and ripped a television set off the wall, creating a large hole. The report says police found "a substantial amount of blood in multiple places, including another TV, menus, and a liquor cabinet." There was also a blood trail of small droplets leading out the side door, down the side walk and across Railroad Avenue, police said. Tucker C.I.D…
