Six local businesses have deals featured on the popular website.
Scoutmob is all about good deals, and there are currently six Tucker businesses on their website. First up is the Paramount on Idlewood Road, the only independently owned coffee shop in town. "It isn't your typical busy, loud hub besieged by over-caffeinated people. In fact, it's pretty much the exact opposite: comfortable, quiet, almost like your own personal library," according to Scoutmob. Patch staffers use it quite frequently too. Then there is Coco Cabana, a lively Cuban restaurant that opened last year in Northlake. Promo film features Tucker, Smoke Rise, and Stone Mountain.
A couple of months ago, a production crew hired by Sotheby's International Realty was spotted on Main Street in Tucker shooting footage for a promotional video of the area. Have a look at a first edit of the video - it's not the final version, which we will show you when ready. This one does give a pretty good idea of what the finished product will look like, though. It includes quite a bit of Tucker, Smoke Rise, and Stone Mountain. See anyone you know? Footage of Tucker Patch's editor on his laptop computer at Sweet Dee's Bakeshop seems to have ended up on the cutting room floor. Oh well... This week, it's all about cupcakes.
Judging from the steady stream of customers coming into Sweet Dee's every day, it's safe to say this new bakeshop on Main Street in Tucker is already a hit. It's a simple, clever concept. Cupcakes, freshly made, and lots of them. Just looking at the things in the display cabinet is a joy in itself. Employee Sheila Adams kindly wrote down the list of flavors for me - Red Velvet, Lemon, Lemon Strawberry, Chocolate Butter Cream, Vanilla Salted Caramel, Midnight Chocolate - you get the idea. There's a cupcake of the day too. Today's is Blueberry Ricotta and a coffee one thrown in for good measure.
