The little garden with a big heart is a recipient of Tucker Civic Association's garden grant.
The Smoke Rise Community is celebrating its first year with a successful community garden. Doug Reynics is the mastermind and energy force behind the concept and execution of the 60 bed organic garden plot that is located at the entrance to the Smoke Rise Community. He has rallied a small group of dedicated volunteers to help with another successful summer growing season. There are big plans for the installation of a pollinator bed with the assistance of Dekalb Master Gardener Wayne Cook. There are even plans for the installation of several bee hives in the very near future. The little garden with a big heart is a recipient of the Tucker Civic Association garden grant. Promo film features Tucker, Smoke Rise, and Stone Mountain.
A couple of months ago, a production crew hired by Sotheby's International Realty was spotted on Main Street in Tucker shooting footage for a promotional video of the area. Have a look at a first edit of the video - it's not the final version, which we will show you when ready. This one does give a pretty good idea of what the finished product will look like, though. It includes quite a bit of Tucker, Smoke Rise, and Stone Mountain. See anyone you know? Footage of Tucker Patch's editor on his laptop computer at Sweet Dee's Bakeshop seems to have ended up on the cutting room floor. Oh well... Thanks to Tiffany Nelms of Virtual Studio Innovations for sending in the video.
