Now through Dec. 13, the farmer's market will include holiday gifts in addition to local foods.
Tucker Farmers Market is adding holiday markets to its repertoire and welcoming some new vendors today. New vendors include Mercier Orchards (apples and apple cider) and Java Genesis Coffee Roasting (whole bean and ground coffee). Marsha Marsha Jewels crafts jewelry with pearls and Tibetan turquoise. Kyra's Kreations creates crocheted, knitted and sewn items with beaded accessories and hair clips, all one-of-a-kind and natural. Cofer Crossing has a new tenant, one that has even won Patch Reader's Choice awards.
If you're looking for somewhere new to have lunch, the Papi's Cuban and Caribbean Grill Tucker location has recently opened. The restaurant is at 4349 Lawrenceville Highway, Suite E inside Cofer Crossing. It's open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, noon to 9 p.m. Sunday. Check out the Media Noche sandwich, which is like a traditional Cuban but made on bread cooked with eggs and sugar for a slightly sweeter taste. The Local No. 7 has recently added a new feature to its menu: a Sunday brunch served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each week. Owner Luis Finley said that the restaurant has been serving Sunday brunch for about three to four weeks now, but doing so quietly and seeing how it works. He's considering expanding to offer Saturday brunch in the future if Sunday goes well. Brunch offerings include more standard fare like French toast, biscuits and gravy as well as a variety platter with toast, eggs, sausage or bacon. However, there are some more adventurous plates like a chorizo and scrambled egg sandwich, chicken and waffles and pancakes with barbecued pulled pork on top. The Tucker Farmers Market rolls in to the Bank of America parking lot at 2333 Main Street today from 4-8 p.m. Here's a sample of some of the vendors setting up shop: Also, bring books for donation to the Friends of Tucker Library book sale that will be held on Oct. 20. The Tucker Arts Guild is holding a meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at The Custom Frame Shop (2319 Main Street). Local attorney Nicholas Smith will be the guest speaker, discussing copyrights, trademarks, how to get started in copyrighting/trademarking work and how to deal with plagiarism. Members who want to attend are encouraged to bring their most recent work, or work in progress, and tell the story of the work. Visitors and new members are encouraged to bring artwork too if they have some. Attendees should also bring a chair. The Arts Guild's upcoming elections mean that the guild needs a list of candidates for the positions of editor, website administrator and treasurer. Candidate names need to be submitted at this meeting.

The Tucker Business Association will hold their Monthly Breakfast Meeting on Oct. 18. Meet at Matthews Cafeteria (2299 Main Street) at 7:30 a.m. for good food and good company. Breakfast is free for TBA members and their guests. Come a little early to mingle and network with other attendees.
A Tucker High student has designed a shirt for breast cancer awareness and the Tigers football team.
