Chili Cook-Off Coming Up Saturday
This year a new category is being added: Best Booth.
Tucker’s annual holiday festival got a ho-ho-whole lot bigger and better this year.
The evening started last Thursday with the anxious anticipation of parents, cameras in hand, waiting for the Northlake Children’s Chorus to ring in this year’s holiday season. Tucker resident Jeff Sears watched while daughter Annabelle sang Jingle Bells and Christmas is Coming with her fellow carolers. “The best yet,” acknowledged Sears. “They picked a good day of the week, in conjunction with the (Tucker) Farmer’s Market. More people are here this year.” Ester Davis agreed this year has been the best Christmas on Main Street yet. “We come to almost every event downtown. It makes you feel like you live in a small town. This is just so nice,” said Davis. The new additions of live music, more food and vendors is all thanks to OTTMA, the Old …

Tucker’s first annual Summer Festival brought back the classic small-town intimate gathering with live music, races and contests.
Tucker continues to put itself on the map with yet another successful fun-for-the-whole-family festival this past Saturday. From big wheel races to watermelon eating contests, Tucker’s new annual summer festival brought back some old traditions from yesteryear. “I wanted to bring fun events back to Tucker; contests, races,” explained Old Town Tucker Merchants Association Events Chairman Jamey Wilson. “All the events were a big hit. The big wheel race was huge (see video), people loved that. It was a big part of Tucker Day and I’m glad it’s back.” “Same with the dunk tank,” Wilson continued. “That was another big thing we brought back, and it was one of the most successful events monetarily all day.” Half the money raised at the dunk tank …

There will be live music, food, a professional sand castle demonstration, local celebrity dunk tank, and a bicycle show, among other things. The Local No. 7 is doing beer and Las Colinas will have a few different kinds of frozen margaritas." Wilson added that they're bringing in half a dozen food trucks from around Atlanta.
