Tucker Main Street Closed This Week

Repairs are being carried out on the railroad tracks Monday through Thursday.

Beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, and extending to 5 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, Main Street in downtown Tucker will be closed to traffic between Lawrenceville Highway and Lynburn Drive. Work crews will replace CSX railroad tracks and cross ties. Road closure signs will be posted advising motorists of construction work in the area and of local traffic restrictions. If we're lucky, they'll fix the pot holes next to the tracks as well! Thanks to Jamey Wilson of Cofer Brothers for this information. Patch welcomes news tips and events from readers. Local No. 7 Opens on Main Street

The restaurant features burgers, sandwiches, and entrees, and is home to Main Street's only full bar.

The Local No. 7 opened in downtown Tucker on Thursday. The much-anticipated restaurant, located at the corner of Main Street and Railroad Avenue, features a variety of sandwiches and burgers, as well as entrees after 4 p.m. Desserts are provided by Southern Sweets bakery, and the restaurant features a full bar including seven beer taps, a variety of bottled beer, wine, and cocktails. Burger selections include "Burgers We've Built" including the John Henry, which is made up of seven patties and seven slices of cheese, topped with bacon and a fried egg. Priced at $20, the menu heckles "Finish and you're on our wall of fame...Don't and it's the wall of shaaaaaame!!!"  Other burgers are sized and priced a little more reasonably (half pound …

My turkey Reuben was awesome with a side of fried pickles. My friend was disappointed in the fried chicken (sorry Chef!) as well as the green beans which she sent back for another side veg. (I tried the beans and they were definitely wrong.) That …   more ›

It is amongst the ranks of Martin Luther King Boulevards and Peachtree Streets in commonality. Traveling through any major city would prove that Main Street is simply another term that defines the center of a vastly burgeoning industry called economic growth; finding it on a map would help identify just where that township had laid its foundation. But in Tucker, Main Street means much more. It is correct that Main Street is the center of Tucker. While some may argue that …
