The Idlewood Acres area is again the target of criminals who ransack cars at night.
Updated March 29, 10:12 a.m. DeKalb Police are reporting other similar incidents in the area this week: in the 4300 block of Sasanqua Court on March 27, 12:10 p.m; in the 1400 block of Drayton Woods Drive on March 26, 11 p.m; and three separate incidents in the 4000-4100 blocks of Cedar Knoll Drive, one on March 27, 7 p.m. and two on March 26, 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., respectively. Cars in one driveway have been ransacked three times in the last month.
A single mother with two children in Tucker's Idlewood Acres neighborhood is reporting that thieves have broken into cars in her driveway for the third time in the past month. "My boyfriend's car was pulled apart last night by what seems to be the same people who went through both of our cars twice within two weeks, a month ago,' Gina Edmonds told Tucker Patch. "A month ago, his new IPOD I gave him was taken; however, they opted not to take my old one," she said. Patch reported on a slew of car break-ins last month in various Idlewood Neighborhoods. The occupants of a black Mitsubishi are causing concern among residents.
Updated 11:39 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21 Two more residents of the Idlewood Acres East neighborhood have come forward to say they saw the same vehicle, a black Mitsubishi, cruising the area in recent days. "I believe that this same car was on Idlehour (Idlewood Acres East) drive last week," said Matt Coker. "I saw them drive past my house three times in different directions. Then a fourth time they pulled into my driveway. I called the police department to let them know about this. The dispatcher said an officer would come by but they never showed."
