Atlanta Light Bulbs donates to Red Cross relief efforts.
Atlanta Light Bulbs, Inc. of Tucker is donating $2,500 to benefit disaster relief for victims of Superstorm Sandy. The donation will go to support the American Red Cross' efforts in providing food, water, shelter, relief supplies, healthcare, and other assistance over the past month. Atlanta Light Bulbs, located at 2109 Mountain Industrial Boulevard in Tucker, also announced that Doug Root has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer effective Dec. 1, 2012. Root was formerly the company's Director of Sales & Marketing, and was instrumental in transitioning ALB from a light bulb replacement business to a lighting solutions company.

Some of the biggest names in music take the stage at Madison Square Garden for the live 12-12-12 concert for Sandy relief. While thousands of people fill the arena, billions are watching live on a variety of screens worldwide. Some of the biggest names in music will play at a benefit concert on Wednesday. All proceeds will go to Hurricane Sandy victims, via the Robin Hood Foundation.
Huge names in music are lending their talents to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts at the “12-12-12” concert on Wednesday, Dec. 12. Every penny sold from ticket sales will go directly to Sandy victims through the Robin Hood Relief Fund, which provides material, money and aid to local organizations that are serving families and individuals in the regions hardest hit by the storm, including over 200 Patch towns in New Jersey, Connecticut and Long Island. Employees help out, and you can, too.
It's been said it's far better to have a neighbor who's near, than a brother who's far away, but in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Americans across the nation have proven to be the best neighbors and the strongest of families. This past weekend, AOL and Patch employees took an opportunity to pitch in, packing two tractor trailers worth of food, water and supplies in Dulles, VA, and Baltimore. In an urgent push to help victims of Hurricane Sandy, more than 100 people worked Thursday night at a storehouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tucker to fill humanitarian relief boxes headed to frontline responders in New Jersey. Volunteers, a group that included local teenagers, teachers and members of the Church, worked quickly to fill more than 1200 boxes of food. This, in addition to an earlier shipment Thursday morning, filled with food, generators, and chainsaws headed for Emerson, New Jersey, is just part of a large effort on behalf of the Church to bring aid to the region hit so hard by Hurricane Sandy.
