You can't miss Nancy Wilkinson's house in Decatur. It's one on Adair Street with a front yard full of plastic skeletons and a hulking pirate ship. Wilkinson loves decorating for all the holidays and her efforts have not gone unnoticed. The IT specialist at Coca-Cola won the first prize in the Spooky Patch Halloween Photo Contest for the photo she submitted of "Poker Pirates." Readers submitted 140 photos that Patch editors narrowed down to five finalists. Readers cast 251 votes, with 98 votes going for Wilkinson’s “Poker Pirates.” For her efforts, Wilkinson won everlasting glory on the internet and a $200 gift card from Patch, though she doesn't care about the fame or the money. Halloween is here and you still don't have a costume ... What to do? While you could go to the pop-up Halloween store in Lakeland Plaza on Highway 20 and rummage through whatever is left, we found some great costumes for all ages that will ensure a spooktacular Halloween. A Little Bearded Garden Gnome - Your kids may already have the clothes. You'll just need to make a simple hat and beard. Bag of Jelly Beans - You'll need a clear trash bag and set of strong lungs to make this sweet costume. Catch of the Day - This is a "reel" easy costume to put together. Quarterback - This costume is quick and easy to make. Spaghetti and Meatballs - Use a red and white tablecloth and a pot to make this saucy costume. Lego - This costume is easy to build …

Whether it’s the candy the little ghosts or goblins eat, the costumes they wear or road safety while they are out trick-or-treating, the BBB ask that people take heed of the following advice. Which kid in America has the most creative Halloween costume in the pumpkin patch? That's what we intend to find out with your photos and the help of celebrity judge Heidi Klum, who will select the Grand Prize winner. Patch will whisk the winner to New York or Los Angeles for a three-day, two-night trip for two that includes a meet and greet with Heidi, plus a donation of $1,031 to a local charity of the winner's choice. I have a confession to make. I’m a little nuts about Halloween. The pumpkins, the costumes, the drama, the history, the crafts, the sweets… Halloween rocks! At the risk of disappointing my Christmas-loving mother who reads this column, I’m going to have to name Halloween as my favorite holiday. I was with a group of moms yesterday, and we were discussing Halloween and kids. It occurred to me as we talked that there are certain rules that apply to even the wildest of holidays.
