Masked Robbers Attack Man in Street

A man was beaten and robbed on Idlewood Road in Tucker.

Two armed robbers wearing masks attacked a man as he took an evening walk and demanded money from him, according to a police report. Joshua Thang Tran, 18, told police two men wearing masks "ran up" to him and threatened him with a handgun, demanding cash. When Tran resisted, "the suspect then hit him below the left eye and in the back of the head with the gun," the report stated. The men took Tran's jacket and left the scene. Tran said there were two other suspects in the area at the time of the robbery, which took place outside the Happy Food Mart at the corner of Idlewood Road and Cowan Road on April 6, shortly after 9 p.m. The victim suffered a laceration under his left eye and complained of soreness in the back of his head. Woman Threatens Another with Gun in Jealousy Dispute

An early morning fight between two women gets out of hand.

A lovers' quarrel at a Tucker apartment that included a gun and a knife ended without bloodshed after police intervened, according to an incident report. The altercation happened in the early hours of Feb. 24 on Preston Lake Drive when one of the women confronted the other about ending their relationship. A neighbor who heard the sound of "someone possibly fighting in the apartment next door" called 911. On arrival, police found the two women in the parking lot, one of whom held a semi-automatic pistol. She was disarmed by an officer. The report stated: "The parties had been seeing (other) people... They tried to talk it out but got upset." The argument escalated over some of their possessions, including phones, shoes, and a jacket. One …

How low can you go? Last week, we told you about an Athens suspect who stole the rent money from a seven-year-old. This week we have the story of a “snatch-and-run” theft of Christmas toys from Faith in Serving Humanity, a Walton County charity. The toys were for the Secret Santa Program and included items for many age groups. Picking up dinner: Employees at a Johns Creek Whole Foods were on to a woman who looked suspicious while she pushed around a cart filled with enough food items to make a holiday feast. Their suspicions were affirmed when she bypassed the checkout lanes and headed for the door.
