Lt. Governor, Mr. Speaker, President Pro Tem Williams, Speaker Pro Tem Jones, Members of the General Assembly, Constitutional Officers, Members of the Judiciary, my fellow Georgians: In centuries long past … in a world far removed from the one we know today … the Age of Exploration captivated the minds of brave, young men. These individuals traveled through distant waters to identify the unknown, their will to explore outweighing the countless dangers, hardships and tragedies they faced. It is an age we now define by these names: Columbus, da Gama, Vespucci and Magellan.
