WOW In-Sync gets funds from a national bank.
WOW In-Sync of Tucker has been granted a $1,000 'Days of Giving' donation by Wells Fargo Bank. The local non-profit is a provider of community and employment services for adults with developmental and learning disabilities. Vice-President Robbie Harris accepted the honor from Doreen Jivens of Wells Fargo at a breakfast event at the 1818 Club in Duluth on Nov. 8. According to the WOW In-Sync website, the company "specifically targets under-served populations, especially those who, for whatever reason, have limited access to services."
Director at Developmental Disabilities Ministries to address AAAFDD gathering.
The special guest at the monthly meeting of the group Answers and Alternatives for Parents of the Developmentally Disabled, (AAAFDD) is Cathy Humphrey, who will address members on Monday, Sept. 24 at the Tucker Recreation Center, 4998 LaVista Road, Room 20, starting at 7 p.m. Humphrey is Director of Church and Community Services for Developmental Disabilities Ministries where she has worked for the last 12 years. She has a master’s degree in Health Care Policy and Administration from Mercer University. AAAFDD is an all volunteer advocacy group for families of the developmentally disabled. It meets every month in Tucker.
