Rep. Johnson Helping Homeless Veterans
Tucker representative wants local groups to help keep veterans off the streets.
U.S. Representative Hank Johnson, whose Fourth Congressional District includes Tucker, has announced two Atlanta-based groups will receive more than $1.3 million from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to fight veterans’ homelessness in 2012-2013. Action Ministries Inc. of Atlanta will receive $1 million and Decatur Cooperative Ministry Inc., $320,000 to provide financial and emotional support, as well as housing stability, for veterans in the Fourth District and throughout metro Atlanta. “Veterans have served us faithfully, and it is our responsibility to give them the support they need to rebuild their lives,” said Rep.
