DeKalb CEO Meeting in Tucker

Burrell Ellis is holding a public meeting in town.

DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis will be holding a community meeting in Tucker as part of an ongoing series in the county. The purpose is "to give citizens an update on county-related issues and an opportunity to discuss (them)," according to a statement. The local event is Tuesday, Mar. 5, from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the home of Tim and Susan Ryles, 3646 Churchwell Court in Tucker. The meetings are free and open to the public.

Tucker Business Association Introduces New Board of Directors

Several new members have been added to the board.

The Tucker Business Association (TBA) this week introduced its 2012-2013 board of directors. Bill Rosenfeld, owner of Rosenfeld Jewelry, is now serving as president of the association, effective Jan. 1, 2013. Burke Brennan, chief communications officer for DeKalb County, who served as president of the association in 2011 and 2012, moves to an ex-officio role. DeKalb Delegation to Hold Town Hall Meetings

County residents are strongly encouraged to attend.

The DeKalb County Legislative Delegation of the Georgia House will hold three upcoming town hall meetings: Thursday, Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m.; Thursday, Jan. 3 at 6 p.m.; and Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 6:30 p.m. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss important issues and initiatives likely to come before the General Assembly in the 2013 legislative session. The delegation would also like to hear comments and concerns from their constituents as they prepare for the upcoming legislative session. All county residents are strongly encouraged to attend. DeKalb Launches Quality of Life Strategy

“Clean it to the Curb” rolls out, new Code Compliance manager named.

DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis announced a number of coordinated initiatives in a special on-site briefing designed to tackle quality of life issues throughout DeKalb County. One of the new initiatives, “Clean it to the Curb”, encourages residents and businesses to maintain landscaping all the way to the roadway, and to keep the curbside free of trash or yard clippings. CEO Ellis announced the collaboration, flanked by Neighborhood Ambassadors, Code Compliance Officers, county mowing crews and staff of the Office of Neighborhood Empowerment (ONE DeKalb) and Keep DeKalb Beautiful.  Approximately 50 people in attendance kicked off the initiative by cleaning a section of Glenwood Road and Line Street in Decatur. “This is a collaboration …

DeKalb CEO's Town Hall Meeting

DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis has held 11 town hall meetings in February and March, with the last one taking place tonight at Tucker High School. Ellis is scheduled to have a meeting at the school from 7 until 8:30 p.m. The meeting is free and open to the public: Tuesday, March 27, 7 – 8:30 p.m. Tucker High School 5036 LaVista Road Tucker, GA 30084
