Northlake Mall turned out a strong Black Friday, said Shelley Korenbrot, a spokeswoman for the shopping center on Briarcliff Road. Stores that opened early, such as Kohl's and Macy's, which opened at midnight, did especially well, she told Neighbor Newspapers. “Our stores that opened midnight had a great run,” said Korenbrot. “Kohl’s had a long line that wrapped around the building to go in and everyone was going after their door-buster items. Macy’s also opened at midnight and they did really well on their door-buster items too.” Sears opened even earlier, at 8 p.m. Thursday. “They had a ton of people waiting for the electronic specials,” Korenbrot said. “They sold out of those." Northlake Mall announced its Black Friday hours Tuesday. They are as follows: Thanksgiving Day: Mall Closed Friday, November 23: 4 a.m. – 10 p.m.; select retailers will open at midnight Saturday, November 24: 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. Sunday, November 25: 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Enjoy complimentary coffee from 4 a.m. - 7 a.m. and complimentary breakfast treats from 7 a.m. – 9 a.m. at Guest Services (while supplies last). Comment from Kat: I saw the note on Black Friday at the mall. Sad to say that the Sears store - couldn't buy anything as all of their systems were down....evidently all morning. I was there at 9:30 and was told they were down for hours. They had excellent doorbusters which ended at 1:00 but ppl were leaving their items in the baskets and going onto other sales.
