Tucker girls basketball players adjust to bigger home court
Tucker girls basketball players are glad to be in their new gym, though perhaps they were not initially. Coach Robin Potter has them running sprints up and down the floor with the same target times she did on the smaller court at Tucker Middle, the Tigers' home for 2 1/2 seasons while Tucker High was being completely rebuilt. "After just a couple drills, they believe me (it's longer and wider)," Potter said. "We had some girls cramp up and had to get trash cans out for others." Potters' girls do a 6-in-36 drill, where players attempt to run six lengths of the floor in 36 seconds. In another drill, players run the width of the court 17 times in one minute, 20 seconds.
