Tucker Store Robbed Three Times This Week

Burglars hit Dollar General twice on Monday night, then an armed robbery occurred on Tuesday.

A store in Tucker was targeted by criminals three times this week, leaving a shaken staff but no injuries. A police report states two unknown males entered Dollar General on Hugh Howell Road on Monday, May 13, at approximately 8 p.m., and stole merchandise from a stock room by wheeling it out the back door on a roll trailer. They returned at 3:30 a.m. and did it again, and all of it was captured on video. There was no forced entry, police said. On Tuesday afternoon, a man entered the store and put a black semi-automatic handgun to the head of a cashier. "Open the drawer, give me the money, open the drawer," he told the cashier, according to the incident report. The cashier was unable to open the drawer because she had no key. The suspect …

Armed Robbery Suspect Sought by Police

Detectives believe the man may be responsible for several business robberies in DeKalb.

The DeKalb County Police Department, based in Tucker, is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man suspected of robbing two businesses this week.  According a a press release, the suspect entered the Family Dollar store located at 3590 Panola Road on May 1 at approximately 11:30 a.m. The man was armed with a weapon and demanded money from the cash register. He then fled the location with an undisclosed amount of cash. The same person is believed to have entered a second business, Dollar General, 2566 Wesley Chapel Road, about 15 minutes later and robbed the location of cash. No injuries were reported during either incident. Detectives believe the man may be responsible for additional business robberies in DeKalb and neighboring …

Masked Robbers Attack Man in Street

A man was beaten and robbed on Idlewood Road in Tucker.

Two armed robbers wearing masks attacked a man as he took an evening walk and demanded money from him, according to a police report. Joshua Thang Tran, 18, told police two men wearing masks "ran up" to him and threatened him with a handgun, demanding cash. When Tran resisted, "the suspect then hit him below the left eye and in the back of the head with the gun," the report stated. The men took Tran's jacket and left the scene. Tran said there were two other suspects in the area at the time of the robbery, which took place outside the Happy Food Mart at the corner of Idlewood Road and Cowan Road on April 6, shortly after 9 p.m. The victim suffered a laceration under his left eye and complained of soreness in the back of his head. Family Dollar Robbed at Gunpoint

The incident occurred Monday morning.

A man robbed a Family Dollar store in Tucker at gunpoint Monday morning, DeKalb County police said. A witness told police she was waiting in line at the Brockett Square location to buy something when she saw the suspect pull out a black gun, point it at the cashier and demand the store's cash at about 11:15 a.m., the police report said. The cashier backed up and said she couldn't open the register, so the witness told the suspect to calm down and she would open it for him. She opened the register, placed the till on the counter and the suspect emptied it, taking $100. He fled the store toward Brockett Road. Man Robbed at Gunpoint Outside Northlake Mall

The 23-year-old victim was robbed in the parking lot Wednesday morning.

Home Invasion, Robbery at Tucker Apartment

Intruder with a mohawk, a facial tattoo and a crowbar made threats, stole electronics.

A man armed with a crowbar broke into an apartment in Tucker and threatened to kill a female resident if she alerted police, according to an incident report. The man is described as a black male in his late 20s to early 30s, 150 lbs, wearing dark clothing, sporting a mohawk and a tattoo in the middle of his face. The incident happened at the Northlake Manor Apartments in Woodbriar Circle on the morning of Sunday, Jan. 6 while the rest of the woman's family went to church.  The woman told police she heard a loud noise and found that her front door had been pried open. As a registered gun owner, I have to dis-agree that a baseball bat, pepper spray, or *plastic* bullets would be just as effective. Do people seriously believe this? News Nearby: Man Shot, Another Robbed at Stone Mountain Walmart

Saturday morning attack occurred in the shopping center's parking lot, and police are looking for two suspects.

Gwinnett County Police are looking for two suspects who shot a man and robbed another outside a Stone Mountain Walmart around 2:50 a.m Saturday morning.  The suspects, both black males, were armed with a semi-automatic handgun, possibly a .40 calibre Glock, according to a police statement. They approached two separate shoppers in the parking lot, shooting one, a 35-year-old male, in the leg when "he did not understand their demands and continued to walk towards the store," the report said. The other victim, a 20-year-old-male, handed over his keys, wallet and cell phone. The suspects took his car and left the scene. Man Attempts Armed Robbery at Piccadilly Restaurant

Afternoon hold-up foiled as the man runs away.

A man attempted to rob the Piccadilly Restaurant in Tucker on Wednesday afternoon by pointing a gun at staff and demanding money. But then he lost his nerve and ran away. The incident happened when the man entered the restaurant on Crescent Centre Boulevard and threatened workers. He was met with resistance and fled, and remains at large. "He got scared," manager Paul Escarra told Patch. "He was in and out real quick." Escarra described the man as black, about 6 ft. tall, and in his mid-20s. Man Claims Friend Helped Rob Him at Gunpoint

The incident occurred at a Motel 6 in Tucker on Sunday.

A Massachusetts man told DeKalb County police his friend helped an armed man rob him at a Tucker motel last Sunday evening. The 25-year-old victim said he was in his room at the Motel 6 at 2810 Lawrenceville Highway when his friend – a Lithonia man – and an unknown suspect knocked on the front door shortly after 5 p.m., the police report said. The victim let the two in, and his friend asked to borrow $10. The suspect pulled out a black pistol and demanded money from both of them. The suspect took money from the victim's front pants pocket and struck him in the head with the butt of the pistol.
