Introducing: "Peace" MigDovie, 2012

MigDovie: A unique entrepreneurial project from the Mister Migs Studio at WOW In-Sync, promoting teamwork, specialized work skills, quality craftsmanship, and more.

This winter, WOW In-Sync is launching a new special project from the Mister Migs Studio: Peace. MigDovie 2012

What is a MigDovie you ask?  Good question.

“Peace”, the very first of the MigDovie Edition, is a special creation from the Mister Migs studio at WOW In-Sync.  This initial MigDovie series was crafted by a team of enthusiastic artisans who poured their heart and soul into producing this original and one of a kind creation.  Each MigDovie is made using 47 individual elements from a combination of new and recycled materials.  MigDovies are individually numbered and signed by the makers.

This is a limited edition series.  There are only 125 handmade “Peace” MigDovies in existence.  We hope you’ll get yours today.  Read on to learn more about the inspiration behind the project, the process involved, and the impact of each MigDovie.

The MigDovie project is intended to spread good will through each hand crafted dove.  The production of each dove involves a multitude of professional and transferable skills which our team worked hard to develop and put to use as they got down to business in the studio.

As you can see from the photos, MigDovies involved intricate and precise stitching, cutting, measuring, and many other facets of design.  The level of handiwork is astounding. There are 47 separate handmade elements to each individual MigDovie.  As result, no two are alike, though each one received equal amounts of care, attention, and finesse.  One team member, Charles, highlighted the most difficult part of the birds to assemble, “The tails were hard.  We had to go step by step.”  Sabrina added, “Teresa and Debra [WOW staff trainers] helped us when we needed it.”

Our team of participants have exhibited impressive teamwork, focus, enthusiasm, and creativity through out this project. They have worked to meet deadlines, produce quality craftsmanship, and to take ownership of their individual and collective roles in production.  Charles added, “I loved being on the team and working hands-on!”  Though the MigDovies are not physically large works and they maintain a simple yet subtle charm, producing this original series was no menial task, but rather a multi-faceted process with many challenges conquered along the way.  We couldn’t be prouder of their work and their accomplishments!  Our team’s own pride in their work shines through in the MigDovies themselves.

As Mother Theresa said, “All works of love are works of PEACE.”  We like to think the spirit of teamwork and collaboration throughout production remains in each MigDovie as it travels outside the studio and that this message is a reminder of the creators’ spirit during times of quiet reflection.  We hope that your MigDovie plays a role in brightening your home and your heart during this season of giving and celebration.  Sabrina and Charles both agreed when asked who they’d give a MigDovie if they could pick just one person.  “I’d give one to my Mom,” Charles said, “Because she’s done so many things for me.”
