Weekender: Rival Night for Tucker-Lakeside

A few things going on over the weekend to check out.


"Wow, this is going to be an interesting night," said local resident Lisa Carlysle on Facebook, referring to the Tucker-Lakeside Rival Night being planned for Friday, Sept. 27 at Uncle Maddio's Pizza Joint. It's going on from 4 to 10 p.m. This, of course, coincides with the Region 6-AAAAA game that No. 1 ranked Tucker is playing against Lakeside at Adams Stadium at 8 p.m.

You can qualify for the Peachtree Road Race just by running the 10K in R4G (Race for Grace) this Saturday at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. It offers a 5K, and the money raised goes to worthy causes in Tucker, Atlanta and even Honduras. Saturday, Sept. 28, 8 a.m.

Join the Globe Academy's inaugural school event and to celebrate National Welcoming Week. "Bring the whole family for fun filled activates including plant-a-garden, butterfly project, hot shot basketball competition, food, arts, crafts, music and much more." 2225 Heritage Drive. Saturday, Sept. 28, 10 a.m.

The ATL Entrepeneurs Conference & Networking Event takes place at North DeKalb Mall on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 11 a.m. 

The Clarkston Farmers Market continues on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 951 N Indian Creek Drive From 10-2 p.m. "This week Atlanta Open Band will play music for us and Rob Harper will call out contra dances. If you've never tried Contra dancing, this Sunday is the perfect time to give it a try!"
