Weekender: Johns Homestead Workdays, Poetry Cafe, Stone Mountain Park

Some of what's going on in and around Tucker this weekend.

Help blaze walking trails at Johns Homestead Park on both Saturday from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. before the Commissioners vote to build the county's animal shelter at this wildlife sanctuary. Park your car at Rehoboth Baptist Church on Saturday and Zemory Drive on Sunday. Please wear work gloves and long pants and bring a shovel and/or rake if possible. 

On Saturday, June 22, a Celebration of World Refugee Day takes place in Clarkston featuring food, music, art activities, storytelling and more.

The Atlanta Green Fun Fest and Lawn Darts Challenge is a free family-friendly, green/eco festival taking place at Grant Park. Saturday, June 22 at 12 noon. 

Poets of all ages are invited to share their work at the Poetry Cafe on Sunday, June 23 at the Clarkston Community Center, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
