Week Ahead: Public Safety Forum, Parent Council, and More

The Tucker Community Improvement District is hosting its first Public Safety Forum for the business community on Monday, Nov. 4, at 5:30 p.m. at the Tucker-Reid H. Cofer Library, 5234 LaVista Road. "Meet DeKalb Public Safety Commanders from the Tucker and North-Center Precincts and learn how to protect your property from theft and vandalism plus other common sense safety precautions."
The Tucker Parent Council presents An Evening with Rick Clark on Monday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. in the Tucker High School auditorium. Clark is Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Georgia Tech and will discuss how middle and high school choices can direct college opportunites and share tips on navigating the college admissions process.
DeKalb's Jobs Bus will be stationed at Clarkston Library, 951 N. Indian Creek Drive on Monday, Nov. 4; 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
The DeKalb Board of Education will hold a Community Meeting for Public Comments on Monday, Nov. 4 at 5:45 p.m. at the Robert R. Freeman Administrative & Instructional Complex, 1701 Mountain Industrial Boulevard in Stone Mountain.

HOI, the Tucker-based Christian-based mission program that operates schools, clinics and volunteer work groups in Honduran and Nicaraguan villages will host the inaugural 'Honduras Comes to Atlanta' event. The seated dinner will be held on Nov. 7 at the Marriott Courtyard in Decatur, beginning at 6:30 p.m., and all proceeds will benefit HOI’s ministries in Honduras and Nicaragua.
