Monday Essentials: Tucker Cityhood, Commissioners Vote on Johns Homestead

What's up this week.

Tucker Together holds another session on Monday, June 24 from 7 - 8:30 p.m. at First Christian Church of Atlanta, "to continue our exploration of the processes and possibilities of Tucker becoming a city." 4532 Lavista Road in Tucker. 

Advocates are urgently needed to attend the Board of Commissioners meeting this Tuesday, June 25, at 9 a.m. in support of keeping Johns Homestead from becoming a county animal shelter. Maloof Auditorium, 1300 Commerce Drive in Decatur. Wear green! "Without the visible show of support of 75-100 people attending this meeting, the land will be lost, and the precedent will be set that public park lands can be re-purposed for county facilities," says Patch reader Earl Williamson.

The second annual community yard sale is on Saturday, June 29, 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. "Meet incredible business, civic and organizational leaders working hard daily to make Tucker, Lilburn and Stone Mountain great places to call home." Tables: $20 public charity donation. 5915 Lawrenceville Highway in Tucker.
