What's going on in the week ahead in Tucker:

Tucker Recreation Center and AAAFDD will host a presentation on Host Homes, which are "family-owned homes with a strong commitment to work with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities." 4898 LaVista Road, Tucker; Monday, Sept. 23, 7 p.m.   

Learn the latest version of Access Databases from an expert, "taught in a small class setting, so that you get the individual attention you deserve." 4388 Lawrenceville Highway (across from Walmart) in Tucker; Monday, Sept. 23, 9 a.m. 

The DeKalb Master Gardener Association presents 'Fall Guy' Arty Schronce, speaking about how to help your garden look as beautiful in October as in April. Northlake Library, 3772 LaVista Road, Tucker; Monday, Sept. 23, 6 p.m.

Central Michigan University DeKalb Center's Open House is this week. 1957 Lakeside Parkway, Ste. 512, Tucker; Tuesday, Sept. 24, 4 p.m.

The Tucker Chess Club meets twice a month. "Please bring your own board and pieces. All skill levels are welcome." Tucker-Reid H. Cofer Library, 5234 LaVista Road, Tucker; Tuesday, Sept. 24, 6 p.m.

There is a photography class for children AND adults at Main Street School of Art "that will enable you to not only learn the basic settings and rules of photography but will leave you with the files to print a self published book of your work at the end of the four week session." 2323 Main Street, Tucker; Wednesday, Sept. 25, 6:30 p.m.
