Learning Program Reaches Out to Business Community
Positions needed to provide conscientious students with paid or volunteer opportunities.
I am Ethel Powers and I have been teaching in the Tucker community for 20 years at Tucker High School. I have had the privilege of meeting many Tucker Business Association (TBA) business owners at TBA meetings and other community gatherings.
I am the Coordinator of the Work-Based Learning Program and have had some of the TBA members to provide employment for our students. The Work Based Learning Program releases seniors at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. daily to work or volunteer in local businesses. Each year at our Employers Appreciation Luncheon we hear great stories about the value that our students add to their businesses. I have had great success placing 50-75 students in paying and volunteer/intern positions during each school year.
We need your assistance during the 2011-12 school year. The WBL Program needs additional positions to provide conscientious students with paid or volunteer opportunities. If you can assist us by providing a position, please contact me by telephone (770-874-3827) or email:

This link will provide you with additional information about the WBL Program and a detailed description of what is expected of the student.
We thank you in advance for your consideration in this very important
matter.
