Johns Homesteaders Planting Fruit Orchard

Volunteers wanted Saturday morning at the park.

By Pam McNall

Greetings Johns Homestead Park Supporters,

We're planting an Orchard! Yes, a bonafide, beautiful fruit orchard, on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

A few members of Friends of JHP met with a horticulturist to map out the design and discuss logistics. We need your help planting the trees and shrubs.

PLEASE RSVP as soon as possible and let us know if you're interested in joining us.

We'll be meeting at the Edinburgh Estates side of the park off of Cooledge Road. Just keep bending down around Edinburgh Drive until you see the green space field.

Please bring shovels, clippers, work-gloves and wear long sleeves. The blackberry bushes have thorns.

We look forward to harvesting blackberries and figs with you someday soon!

Sincerely,
Friends of Johns Homestead Park
