Help Needed: Habitat for Humanity, Keep DeKalb Beautiful

Groups across the county can use extra hands to accomplish their missions.

Organizations throughout DeKalb County are looking for reliable, enthusiastic volunteers to help impact lives and communities. Here are a few groups that have plenty of opportunities to serve:

  • Habitat for Humanity-DeKalb could use volunteers not just to hold a hammer and nails on Build Day, but for office and phone work, cleaning up after construction, tidying up the house before its dedication, and landscaping. Click here to learn more about volunteer opportunities and requirements.
  • Volunteers in Patrol program of the DeKalb County Police Department is described as “a non-confrontational neighborhood patrol program.” Citizens patrol their own neighborhoods.  For more information on qualifications and duties, click here.
  • Want to improve the look of your community? Keep DeKalb Beautiful can support your efforts by providing some materials as available and publicizing/acknowledging your work. Learn more about the program here; interested volunteers should call 404-371-2654.
  • DeKalb County Board of Health needs volunteers to promote wellness, for office work and special events, and several other tasks. Learn more here, and call 404-294-3700 to apply.
