Fall festivals, laughter yoga and more.

Rivers Alive Volunteer Opportunity

When/Where: Saturday, Oct. 1, 9 a.m., Twin Brothers Lakes on Historic Johns Homestead Property, 3071 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker.

Why Go: The is asking volunteers to preserve a great piece of land that has two lakes, a dam, wetlands and wildlife as part of the statewide waterway cleanup effort of Rivers Alive. Picking up trash and removing an old wooden structure will be on the list of duties.

Racing for Grace: 10K/5K Peachtree Qualifier Race

When/Where: Saturday, Oct. 1, 8 a.m., , 4882 Lavista Road, Tucker.

Why Go: Keep up that summer workout routine with a 5K or, if you're feeling limber, a 10K at the second annual Racing for Grace. Awards will be given to the top runners.

Pricing: $30. Runners can register at the race and online at active.com or racingforgrace.com.

Laughter Yoga & the Voice

When/Where: Sunday, Oct. 2, 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m., , 2227 Idlewood Road, Tucker.

Why Go: For those not familiar with it, laughter yoga is a 30-minute routine that mixes laughing exercises with yogic breathing. Celia, a singer, songwriter and certified laughter yoga instructor, will be leading the session to let attendees learn and appreciate the instrument that is their voice. Stone Mountain Park's 9th Annual Pumpkin Festival

When/Where: Friday and Sunday, Sept. 30 and Oct. 2, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 1, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Stone Mountain Park, 1000 Robert E. Lee Drive, Stone Mountain. 

Why Go: Bring the whole family to enjoy a pumpkin puppet parade, costume contests, scavenger hunts, pie eating and more fall festivities at Stone Mountain Park. Sept. 30 markes the first weekend of the festiva, which will continue throughout October, so don't worry if you can't make it this weekend.

Trinity's Oktoberfest

When/Where: Saturday, Oct. 1, 11 a.m.-9 p.m., Trinity Lutheran Church, 1826 Killian Hill Road, Lilburn. 

Why Go: Trinity is celebrating its ninth annual Oktoberfest with crafts, games, live food and prize drawings. Sausages, kraut, and other German food and drinks will be served, as well as American food, and local band Alias Smith and Jones are on the music bill along with other bands.

Pricing: $3 for guests over the age of 10.
