Last Chance: Tucker Road Race Registration

Register by Monday, May 7.

The Annual 5K Tucker Road Race will be held on Saturday, May 12 at Tucker High School, starting at 8:30 a.m. There will also be a one mile Fun Run/Walk at 8 a.m. Warm-ups for both races will begin 15 minutes before start-time.

Special guest this year will be Ultra Distance Runner and former Guinness World Record Holder Stan Cottrell, who will greet participants and sign autographs.  

Tucker Road Race Chairperson Geonice Hanchett called Tucker Patch to say this year the event is doing something new. "We're partnering with the National Stroke Association to promote Stroke Awareness Month," she said.

Awards will be given to the team or organization with the most participants, and the Marching Band will perform. The race supports the school's music program. Registration is available on-line and must be completed by Monday, May 7.

The celebration on Main Street will begin right after the race.

Hanchett told Patch: "I truly love planning the Tucker Road Race because it brings everyone together. It crosses all barriers of age, sex, race and nationalities."
