Tucker Opens Pre-Season Scrimmages Friday

All 19 DeKalb County football teams now scheduled for preseason tilts.

Chamblee completes the preseason lineup for DeKalb County Schools' football programs with the addition of a scrimmage against Bainbrige on Friday, Aug. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Bainbridge.

All 19 DeKalb County football teams now are scheduled for preseason tilts in preparation for their season openers.

The schedule begins on Friday, Aug. 10 as Tucker and Stone Mountain open up the pre-season scrimmages.

Tucker travels to face Chattahoochee at 7 p.m. in a matchup of the past two Class AAAA state champions, while Stone Mountain goes to Cobb County to take on Wheeler at 7:30 p.m.

Ten teams go on the road next weekend (Friday/Saturday, Aug. 17-18) to play their scrimmages around the Metro Atlanta area while Adams, Hallford and Panthersville allow local fans a look at some of the playoff contenders.

Stephenson hosts North Gwinnett in a 7 p.m. contest at Hallford Stadium on Friday (Aug. 17) as the Class AAAAA Jaguars take on one of the top rated teams in the newly formed Class AAAAAA.

Lakeside and Druid Hills bring their neighborhood rivalry to Adams Stadium on Saturday (Aug. 18). Lakeside continues playing in one of the toughest regions in the state this fall with a move to Region 6-AAAAA while Druid Hills has jumped from Class AAA to Class AAAAAA.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Lions and Cedar Grove Saints have been two of the highest flying offenses in DeKalb and Georgia the past two seasons. The two teams meet in a scrimmage on Saturday (Aug. 18) at 7:30 p.m. at Panthersville Stadium to give fans a glimpse of the possible air shows to come this fall.
