Tucker, Gainesville Bring Impressive Credentials to Football Semifinals

Class 5A semifinal matches recent state champions

One of the more notable matchups in the Georgia High School Association Football semifinals this week matches recent state champions Tucker and Gainesville.

Gainesville, the defending Class 5A champion, plays at Tucker, winners of the Class 4A title in 2008 and 2011. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6.

The winner will face either Kell or Creekside in the Class 5A final next weekend.

According to the Georgia High School Football Daily, Tucker is in the semifinals for the fifth time in seven years. Gainesville is playing in its third straight final four, and fourth time in five seasons.
