Tucker Footballers Win 'Sports Champions' Award

The award is given annually to outstanding senior athletes.

Two players from the Tucker Tigers are honorees of the annual Sports Champions of Greater Atlanta award, it was announced by the organization.

and are recipients of the award, given to high school seniors "who have shown outstanding performance in athletics, achieved a high level of excellence in their scholastics and have shown good character by representing their team/school well," according to the SCGA website.

Part of the award includes a contribution of $500 to each honoree's school to be used in their chosen sport.

Judy Spain, communications liaison for , said in an email: "The nomination process is rigorous and only a few are chosen to receive this prestigious honor. Since their founding in 2002, they have never selected two honorees from the same school. But this year they did, and those two young men are from Tucker High School."
