Tucker Dominates Griffin 46-0

Tigers earn first shutout in second-round win; advance to Class AAAA quarterfinals.

earned its first shutout of the season Friday night at Adams Stadium, defeating the visiting Griffin Bears 46-0 in a Class AAAA playoff game that was never in question.

The game came unwound quickly for Griffin, which turned over the opening kickoff on its own 22. Dallas Rivers finished the short Tucker drive with a four-yard touchdown run, and there was no looking back from there.

Tucker's defense gave up zero net yards rushing and never looked uncomfortable with any play the Bears ran.

Deitrick Dukes picked up two sacks in under 30 seconds during the second quarter. Marqeeye Biggs and Jordan Landry each recorded an interception. Solomon Jackson, Joe Rush and Justin Rivers spent a significant amount of time in the Bears' backfield. Sancharles Zachery played true to form, picking up big hits all over the field and getting involved in nearly every play.

Juwaan Williams was lights-out during the first half, going 4-for-5 for 100 yards and two touchdowns, a 43-yard strike to Landry and a four-yard pass to Josh Dawson. Williams attempted no passes in the second half.

Yusuf Minor gave another star effort, returning the second-half kickoff 84 yards for a touchdown and picking up an eight-yard touchdown rush for the game's final score. Minor also led the charge in kick coverage to stifle any chance of a Bears' return.

In addition to the interception and touchdown reception, Landry ran in the Tigers' second score of the game from 44 yards out. Rivers also finished with multiple scores, as he added another four-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

Tucker's offense had two consecutive scoring runs called back on penalties in the first quarter and did not play nearly as clean a game as the first-round victory over Sprayberry.

Tucker fans' classlessness and poor sportsmanship are the epitome of trash. I have never, in all of my life, encountered such rude, obnoxious, and classless people at a sporting event of any kind. I truly hope someone realizes that the trash you people want to call fans, are hurting your team, school, and community. You can have pride in your team and cheer them on and win with dignity and grace as opposed to arrogance, rudeness, and lack of good character. I hope Flowery Branch thumps tucker pretty hard and sends them and their rude, classless fans back home.

Boo Hoo Kyle. Want to hear a story? How about 7 or 8 grown men supporting Griffin sitting near the press box. How about their pre-game ribbing and smack talking to the Tucker fans? Of course the Tucker fans are going to give back that same ribbing. Large men of color talking some pre-game smack! Does that scary you Kyle? Those same Griffin guys got really quiet by the end of the 1st quarter. NO Tucker fans continued to talk trash to them. Stop generalizing Kyle.

Please someone give *Kyle a hanky. This is a competitive sport, with cheering for our team, and the "arrogance" of us winning against your team. No more arrogance and of course lack of character, than who your parents in the front, on your side. Yes we won, Yes we have pride, and Yes, we are proud of our community, our teachers, our students and our team. My prayer for your team is that all those seniors boys, get somekind of a scholarship to go to college. Thats the main thing. So with that said, your classless and the lack of character you posses- to just focus on a crowd of people cheering for their winning team. Because all in all, we are all cheering for a group of young men, on a field with other young men playing against on another in good spirit, rather than fighting, robbing or shooting one another. Stop being a SORE LOOSER!! Get over it, its not the NFL yet.
