Tucker Baseball Alumni Wanted for Opening Day Ceremony

A special ceremony is planned for the first home game of the year.

The Baseball team is calling all Tucker baseball and softball alumni players to attend the first home game for 2012 and be a part of the opening day ceremony.

It all starts on Saturday, Feb. 25 at noon and the plan is to honor the oldest baseball and softball alumni player by having them throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Β

"I would love to see someone with a walking cane or something along those lines throw out that first pitch," Baseball Board President Dwight Taylor told Patch.

Taylor is asking baseball and softball alumni players would like to be considered for this honor to RSVP before Thursday, Feb. 23 by emailing thsdugoutclub@aol.com with the following information: name, phone number, which sport you played and what year you played it.

If more than one player from the same year responds, the oldest player will throw out the first pitch and acknowledge the other players from that year. Β
