Tucker defender has led the Tigers in their 9-0 start.

Update: (Nov. 2, 3:40 p.m.) Josh Dawson has a shoulder injury and missed last week's game against Lithonia. He will also miss this week's game on Friday against the Vikings.

Joshua Dawson has been a leader on the defense all season, as the Tigers have built a 9-0 record.

The senior defensive end is the team's leading sacker — with six in eight games (10th in DeKalb County) — and one of the leading tacklers with 26 solos and six assists.

Dawson was named the team’s defensive player of the week for week 9 (through Oct. 21), as reported to DeKalb County Athletics. He had five solos, two assists and two sacks.

Other top performers:

Yusuf Minor, wide receiver: He scored two touchdowns in Tucker’s 50-7 win over Lithonia last week. One of the scores was a 42-yard pass from Juwaan Williams.

Jordan Landry, running back:  He scored two touchdowns against Lithonia, including a 43-yarder.

Brendon Hooker, running back: He had 92 yards on two carries, including a 50-yard touchdown run.

Nicholas Collins, offensive lineman: The senior was named the team’s offensive player of the week for week 9 (through Oct. 21), as reported to DeKalb County Athletics.
