GHSA: Tucker High Sports Will Move to Class 6A in 2014

It's been nearly 30 years since Tiger teams last played in the state's highest class.

Tucker High School sports teams will play in the state’s highest classification beginning next year.

The Georgia High School Association reclassified its member schools Monday beginning with the 2014-15 academic year.

Tucker, a two-time state champ, will play in Class 6A through 2015-16.

According to the Georgia High School Football Daily, it will be the first time since 1985 that Tucker will play in the state's highest class.

This is the first step in the GHSA’s process of realigning schools every two years.

Schools will be divided into regions in early December, then finalized in January.
