The No. 1 ranked Tucker Tigers (8-0, 7-0) could clinch the Region 6-AAAAA title with a victory over the unranked Martin Luther King Jr. Lions (6-2,5-2) on Friday night in a game to be telecast by GPB from Hallford Stadium at 7:30 p.m.

The Lions need a win to solidify their playoff hopes and lead the series with Tucker 1-0 after a 24-17 win a year ago. Quarterback Roland Rives and the Lions’ offense hope to get back on track against the Tigers after scoring just 6 points in a 10-6 loss to No. 4 ranked Stephenson this past weekend.

The Tigers are coming off a 55-12 victory over Miller Grove and are looking to move one game closer to their seventh undefeated regular season since 2001. A win coupled with a Mays loss to Stephenson in another key Region 6-AAAAA matchup this weekend would clinch the region title for the Tigers.

The No. 4 ranked Stephenson Jaguars (7-1, 6-1) can all but clinch a home playoff berth with a win against Mays (6-2, 6-1) in the game set for Saturday night at 7:30 at Hallford Stadium. Mays needs a win in its final two games against Stephenson and Tucker to clinch a playoff berth.

Two losses by Mays in the final two weeks and two wins by Arabia Mountain could clinch the Rams first ever playoff berth in the team’s fifth year of existence.

Arabia Mountain (5-3, 3-3) holds the tiebreaker with Mays due to its overtime victory over Mays two weeks ago to open a run to the playoffs. The Rams take on Dunwoody (2-6, 2-5), a 28-0 winner over North Atlanta last week, in a 7:30 p.m. game at North DeKalb Stadium on Saturday night.

Cedar Grove (6-2, 3-1) travels to Woodward Academy (7-2, 4-1) in a game with big playoff implications in Region 6-AAA on Friday night.

The Saints could force a three-way tie atop the standings with a win along with St. Pius who defeated Cedar Grove two weeks ago, but dropped a game to Woodward over the weekend.
