Racing for Grace (R4G) - 10K/5K Peachtree Qualifier Race

It’s Getting Closer -  R4G 10K/5K Peachtree Qualifier

The third annual Racing for Grace (R4G) 5K/10K race (www.r4gatl.com)  takes place Saturday, Sept. 29, 8:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 4882 LaVista Road, Tucker, GA, (www.standrewspresbyterian.org). .  Runners from all over the Atlanta metropolitan area and beyond participated in the first two events and always give the church and the friendly volunteers rave reviews.  This year’s event should be bigger, better, and even more fun than last year’s race while boosting the local Tucker community.

Plus, R4G offers nifty new stuff to runners and sponsors.  The race will have chip timing, which means individual race times will be automatically tallied through a chip worn by each runner.  Another big benefit for runners will be a gorgeous newly designed technical T-shirt – a shirt built for racing and other athletic pursuits.  Even volunteers will want this shirt with its great, all-new graphics.

The R4G race is now a certified Go Green Event – Athletes for a Fit Planet.  St. Andrews’ Caring for Creation Team has secured the certification so that R4G will be officially “Green” and advertised as such.

Plus ,thanks to a church member’s generous donation, R4G is now a registered Grand Prix run on the Georgia Run & See website, www.georgiarunner.com, the Clover Glove Race Series (which supports the 4H of Georgia)  http://www.cloverglove.com, and the Black Bag Race Series, www.blackbagraceseries.com.  This means more runners and more excitement.

And don’t forget, R4G is all about raising money for missions, especially youth missions.  During May the St. Andrews kids worked with the Tucker Interfaith Mission Experience (TIME), http://timemission.org, a home repair outreach mission project that joins youth and adults from several churches to help local people.  Plans are underway now for the youth to return to Honduras next year to work with the Honduras Mission Network.  The St. Andrews kids are already excited about this next mission trip, and R4G is the annual fundraiser to support the youth in all that they do, including their local, regional, national and international mission activities.
