DeKalb Middle Schools: Football Update

Third week preview.

Two games this weekend feature a pair of undefeated teams putting their records on the line against each other as the DeKalb Middle School football season has a full slate on Saturday, Sept. 10.

North DeKalb is hosting both of these matchups with Sequoyah (1-0) taking on Peachtree (1-0) at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Sequoyah is coming off a 19-14 victory over Redan (0-1) and is in a three-way tie for first in the Region 1 overall standings.

Peachtree knocked off Stone Mountain (0-1) by a 21-6 margin and is along in first place in Region 3.

Bethune (1-0) is tied with two other teams in the Region 1 overall standings and travels to North DeKalb Stadium for the 10:30 a.m. game with Chamblee (1-0) which is in a five-way tie for first in Region 2. Bethune downed Region 3’s McNair 40-0 in Week 2 while Chamblee slipped by Region 1’s Henderson by a score of 22-18.

Columbia (0-0) opens its season on Saturday with a battle against Salem (1-0), an 18-14 winner over Druid Hills last week. Salem is part of the five-way tie in Region 2. The pair faces off in a 9 a.m. game at Panthersville.

Chamblee (1-0) vs. Bethune (1-0), North DeKalb, 10:30 a.m.
Lithonia (0-1) vs. Young (APS), Avondale, 10:30 a.m.
Miller Grove (0-1) vs. Chapel Hill (0-1), Adams, 10:30 a.m.
Redan (0-1) vs. Champion (1-0), Hallford, 10:30 a.m.
Stephenson (1-0) vs. McNair (0-1), Panthersville, 10:30 a.m.
