Last Chance: Register for Livsey's Amazing Race

This Friday, March 30, is your last chance to register at a lower rate for the Amazing Livsey Elementary Race in Tucker.

The 3.4 mile race starts at 9 a.m. at on Saturday, April 21, according to the DeKalb County Schools website.

If you register by Friday, the cost is $5 per person with a $25 maximum for families. After that, the fee rises to $7 per person with a $30 family maximun.

The site describes the event as follows: The Amazing Livsey Elementary Race in Tucker (ALERT) is a race that will raise nutrition awareness and promote an active lifestyle. Parent and student teams will accomplish tasks, face challenges, and get clues while increasing their knowledge about health and wellness in order to complete the race. Just like the show, Amazing Race, the parent/student teams will operate as an effective unit as they encounter challenges, detours, roadblocks, and pit-stops all related to health, nutrition, and fitness.

The Tucker Youth Soccer Association (TYSA) is donating one full week of soccer camp, and the first 75 paid participanting children will be entered in a drawing to win it. This gift will also include a TYSA bag, soccer ball, and t-shirt, valued at $240.
