DeKalb Schools Softball: Three Teams Open State Playoffs Today
Teams vying for an opportunity to move into the second round.
The 2011 Class AAAA state softball playoffs begin on Wednesday (Oct. 12) with three DeKalb County teams vying for an opportunity to move into the second round.
The Lakeside Lady Vikings (18-3) play hosts as the No. 2 seed out of Region 6-AAAA to Region 5-AAAA No. 3 seed Chapel Hill (24-7). The best-of-three series is set for Henderson Middle School with the first game of the doubleheader set for 3 p.m. followed by the second game at 4:30 p.m. Β A third game, if necessary, is set for 4 p.m. at Henderson on Thursday.
Dunwoody (12-13), the Region 6-AAAA No. 3 seed, heads off to Cobb County to take on Region 5-AAAA No. 2 seed Pope (22-6-1) on Wednesday at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. The third game, if necessary, will be announced later today.
The Chamblee Lady Bulldogs (15-8) enter the Class AAAA state playoffs as the No. 4 seed out of Region 6-AAAA and travel to Paulding County (20-8), the No. 1 seed from Region 5-AAAA. The Wednesday doubleheader times are set for 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. and the third game, if necessary, is set for Thursday with a time to be announced.
