Region 6-AAAA took the week off as all 12 teams took their open dates this past weekend, but renew their play with key games taking place in DeKalb County this week.

The first big game in the Region pits DeKalb rivals Southwest DeKalb (3-2) and Dunwoody (3-2) in a game televised as the Thursday Night Game of the Week by WSB-TV at North DeKalb Stadium with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.

The two rivals enter the game tied for fourth in the region standings and
the winner takes a step forward in earning a state playoff berth. On Thursday, the game can be seen on Charter channel 126, Comcast channel 248 and also online at WSBTV.com. A re-air of the Thursday Night Game of the Week also runs Friday at 1:06 AM on WSB-TV, Channel 2.

The second big game set for DeKalb has No. 1 ranked Tucker (5-0) hosting region co-leader Mays (5-0) at Adams Stadium in a game to decide the undisputed leader in the region standings with four games to play. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. in a game set for filming by Comcast on Demand.

Tucker has already played contenders Marist and Southwest DeKalb and came away victorious while Mays opened the season with a big win over playoff
contender Dunwoody.

Miller Grove (3-2) looks to stay in that fourth playoff spot as the Wolverines host Douglass (0-5) at Hallford Stadium on Friday night at 7:30.

The No. 4 ranked Stephenson Jaguars (5-0) and No. 5 ranked Martin Luther King Jr. Lions (5-0) both head out on the road in Region 2-AAAAA as they look to protect their undefeated records in overall and region play.

The Jaguars travel to Newton (3-2) on Friday while the Lions head out to Luella (3-2)
